The Need/Business Objective
The client wanted to create BI reports for various key performance indicators (KPIs) for their business with the aim to maximize their efficiencies through real-time decision-making and resource allocation by integrating a business intelligence tool with their ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
Since the company was already using Microsoft Business Central ERP, Power BI was the most logical choice for them due to its seamless integration capabilities with Dynamics 365 and the support provided by Microsoft.
VBeyond Digital undertook the project of setting up and connecting Power BI with the client’s Microsoft Business Central ERP platform. We created a data model that would simplify and speed up the creation of business intelligence reports for users and stakeholders based on predefined KPIs. This allowed the company to:
- Easily connect multiple data sources,
- Visualize their data with user-friendly features, and
- Create customizable and secure business intelligence reports
Power BI reports provided a flexible alternative to reports built in Business Central, enabling the client to drill down and customize the visualization, and even merge data from various locations, vendors, and buyers on Business Central.
